Meet Raquel. She’s a playful, flirtatious bundle of fun on the wing. As fairy kitties go, she’s top notch and brimming with sugar-sweet goodness. Fortunately, she has found the perfect match in my angel kittie, Raphael. So, if you know any eligible she-kitties, make sure they know that Raph is no longer available. He’s absolutely smitten with Raquel. Hubba-hubba.

Raquel is constructed of a wire and foil armature and lovingly painted with acrylics. Her luminous wings are gold nylon stretched over a wire frame.

*To see more views of Raquel, or her beau, Raphael, see the other pics in my gallery.

sooo cute i really no good at sculpting so really nice job on this one ^^

:-) Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Awww. Thank you so much!

My friend’s daughter liked my sculpey figures so I got her a box of clay. She tried to sculpt like me and it didn’t work for her, so I showed her a way to create cute animals and such by putting together different sized balls of clay. Now she’s hooked and has a whole dresser top full of cute critters. The secret is to find a technique that works for you!"

Aww...what a cute couple they make! I want to see a picture of them together! ^_^

:-) Barbara J. Wickham replies: "I will definitely have to arrange that! 1"

Cute kitty, and a great sculpture too. Nicely painted.

:-) Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Thank you! I now wish I has used a matt black paint. The shine makes this piece one tough cookie to photograph. *pulls out hair*"

Adorable 1

:-) Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Thank you, Anne! I have been craving cuteness in my life lately and this trend will definitely continue. 1"

I like that nose and the other exaggerated features 2. Like a kitty smiling contently at it’s owner.

:-) Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Raquel was inspired by my female cat. She gives me that squinty-eyed, endearing look all the time. Awwww. *melts*

It was so funny when I was sculpting the face. I couldn’t resist smiling back! *lol*"

O_o She’s so cute! I want a pet fairy kitty.. >_>

:-) Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Next time I’m in the garden, I’ll try and net one for you! Just remember that you have to put the litterbox up really high! *lol*"

I spoke too soon. I thought Snowball was my favorite, now I’m not sure!

:-) Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Well, I’ve created a bit of conundrum for ya. Oops!

I’m very happy that you like this one too. I’m sure Snowball will understand. 1"

How cute, I bet all my kitties would be jealous lol

:-) Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Thanks! My new kitty in now demanding that I make her a sculpy! 1"

Heehee. She should get together for a play date with my fairy penguins 2

:-) Barbara J. Wickham replies: "Oooo. Maybe that’s not such a great idea. Raquel loves to chase and eat small, winged creatures. 17"
