| 9 May 2004 | Gretchen K. Berntson | They are indeed "tough and sexy." It might be interesting to see some other zodiac signs done in this style, its very spiffy. The only criticism I've got is that the arm of the one in the front looks a bit too thin, but I suppose it could be at a weird angle or something. Barbara J. Wickham replies: "These ladies appreciate your compliment and so do I! They actually started off in a more stylized form but the 'customer' wanted them to have more 'curves'. Some proportions are definitely off-kilter but I was concentrating on other details and the owner-to-be wasn't complain'n. If I find the original design I'll post it for comparison and I really like your idea...tough & sexy lady zodiac signs! Killer! Thanks, again!" | |
| 15 May 2004 | Molly Mascow | For some reason the idea of tatooed people as tatoo designs is endlessly amusing to me right now.. Very awesome picture Barbara J. Wickham replies: "The one who requested this wanted the gemini sign tattooed on her girls (see hip of facing gemi) the other tats are my embelishment on that idea. So the credit goes to Tisha. (Hey girl!) Thanks for the compliment...I might do more zodiac signs like this...still thinking..." | |
| 20 Aug 2004 | Buritsutani | O__O; big boob job... other than that i love the piccy... -buri Barbara J. Wickham replies: "***LOL*** You are correct! The person that requested this piece was very specific on that point! Or...points? *giggle* I'm so immature! Anyhoo, I'm glad you like it regardless. Thanks!" | |
| 8 Aug 2006 | Jamie Wyld | nice, a little more unusual than most tattoo concepts. Something that I try HARD to avoid in my tattood designs, but TBH - deamon wings and that always look GREAT don't they? I digress. reminds me a little of the works of Erte (think I spelt that right), but has a individual spin to it that puts it way above 'hey!... that reminds me of something else'. The pose is similar I guess to the style that is found on ancient Greek pottery - did you aim for that at all, or was that just chance? Would like to see it coloured - don't know why, I'm seeing sky blues and cyans - is gemini an air sign? Barbara J. Wickham replies: "The person who requested this design had a very sensual and edgey personality and my whole aim was to make sure the style reflected more of her warrior side. I also wanted to give it a touch of the primitive to give the design some age. I love that you used Greek Pottery as an example of a style since there are alot of elements in that art form that I like to incorporate into some of my designs.
Thank you for such an insightful comment!" | |
